If you’ve been anywhere near Nick Jonas’ Instagram account in the last week or so, you’re already well aware that he’s releasing a new single called “Levels” on August 21. The Kingdom star has been teasing the track, which he will perform for the first time at the MTV VMAs pre-show, with a string of kooky Moon Babe-starring videos. The 22-year-old also unveiled the cover today (August 17) and it’s a profile shot with a blue-and-red color scheme.

Apart from those brief, Daft Punk-esque Instagram snippets, “Levels” is something of a mystery. “Teacher” was originally lined up to be third single from Nick’s self-titled LP (a lyric video was filmed and remixes were sent to clubs), but that got shelved when he decided to rerelease the album. “Under You” (another new tune) sounds like a hit, so the bar is set pretty high for “Levels.”
