Maroon 5's Dramatic 'Wait' Video
Adam Levine gets a beating in Maroon 5's second, more dramatic 'Wait' video.

Intense speculation about potential Super Bowl performers is an annual tradition for pop fans. While the usual suspects were thrown about (Britney Spears, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez) this time around, the NFL had another demographic in mind. Veteran rockers Maroon 5 will headline the 2019 Halftime Show according to an exclusive report in Variety. And it’s hard to fault that decision. At this point, the Adam Levine-fronted band is one of the few legacy acts that is still churning out hits. In fact, their current single “Girls Like You” is in a tight race for number one on the Billboard Hot 100 next week. (They face some competition from Drake and Eminem).

Amazingly, “Girls Like You” is Maroon 5’s 14th top 10 hit. They landed their first, “This Love,” way back in 2004 and have since returned to the upper reaches of the charts with classics like “She Will Be Loved,” “Moves Like Jagger” and “Sugar.” The band also has plenty of collaborations in their discography, so special guests shouldn’t be an issue. I would love to see the likes of Christina Aguilera, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, RiRi and Wiz Khalifa share the stage with them. Get familiar with Maroon 5’s latest smash below.
