She’s Coming! Lil’ Kim Announces New Album ‘9,’ Drops “Go Awff” Video

The Queen Bee is making a comeback in a serious way. This week, Lil’ Kim announced plans to drop a new album’s worth of material. She confirmed the news and shared the LP’s title and release date with a Twitter post on Tuesday (March 26). The project – called 9 – is her fifth LP and her first since The Naked Truth dropped in 2005. Clocking in at 13 songs, the collection arrives May 17. And it looks like it is shaping up to be a star-studded affair. According to a press release, it includes collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross, Remy Ma, Rich the Kid and more.

To celebrate the news, Lil’ Kim dropped a video in support of lead single “Go Awff.” The track arrived earlier this year and serves as a fitting introduction to the project. Boasting regal horns and slick verses, it makes it very clear that the rapper is at the top of her game. And the visual is just as hot. Directed by Damien Sandoval and choreographed by Laurieann Gibson, it features no shortage of glam looks and some confident dance routines. With any luck, the video will give the track a bit of a promotional push. It would be nice to see the diva stage her comeback with a chart-dominating smash in hand. And there is no doubt that the honor would be well-deserved.
