Another smash from 'Divide.' Saoirse Ronan stars in Ed's 'Galway Girl' video.

You might not be familiar with the name Beoga (yet), but you have definitely heard one of their songs. The Irish quintet collaborated with Ed Sheeran on ÷ highlights “Galway Girl” and “Nancy Mulligan,” amassing hundreds of millions of streams in the process. That raised the band’s profile internationally and opened their eyes to the prospect of making music that falls somewhere between their traditional folk sound and commercial pop. A deal with Columbia Records followed and they recently rolled out a genre-busting collaboration with country star Devin Dawson called “Matthew’s Daughter.”

Beoga also found the time to cover Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus’ chart-conquering “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart.” In their capable hands, the song transforms into a rousing folk ditty. “We wanted to cover this tune because it’s a banger and Miley’s voice is so great on it,” the band explains. “The country vibe of the original isn’t so far away from the world we come from, so it felt like a good fit musically and the string line is savage too. Hopefully people like what we did with it.”

We’re very excited to premiere Beoga’s killer cover. Hopefully they add it to the setlist of their upcoming tour with Johnnyswim. See all the tour dates and listen to their version of “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” below.
