T-Pain And Andy Samberg Get Crabby In A New Funny Or Die Video

t-painandysSaturday Night Live‘s Andy Samberg and his fellow “I’m On A Boat” Grammy nominee T-Pain extend their collaborative relationship with a new video posted to Funny Or Die.

In the clip, Samberg gets his Auto-Tune on by serenading a hermit crab (hot), using the I Am T-Pain iPhone application. The “Buy U A Drank” rapper then calls Andy up, and they make several references to “I’m On A Boat.” And scones. Pain then fronts like he didn’t even know there was an I Am T-Pain app.

Not sure if this latest effort falls under the “funny” or “die” category—in fact, T-Pain’s “Take Your Shirt Off” music video is far more of a knee-slapper—but hop below and judge for yourself. More »

T-Pain Reaches Classy New Heights With ‘Take Your Shirt Off’ Video

tysoThe video for T-Pain’s new jam “Take Your Shirt Off” is literally quite the stripped down affair. Gone is the Tallahassee native’s staple pimp drag from such heartwarming Auto-Tune classics as “I’m On A Boat” and “Buy U A Drank.” Instead, T-Pain shuffles around with various curvy sorority girls and frat guys in the new Stomp The Yard-esque clip, clad only in an orange tee and jeans.

But the real fun begins when the hearse pulls up, a coffin rolls out and all the sexy co-eds start ripping off their shirts and tossing them onto a corpse! T-Pain, you’ve now made the Dean’s List in our book.

Catch T’s ode to higher education—and watch for guests George Clinton and Petey Pablo—after the jump! More »

If It’s Tuesday, It Must Be Time For T-Pain To Appear On Other Pop Stars’ Songs

56676556R. Kelly has released the remix of his sex-as-chart-topper single “Number One,” which features T-Pain and Keyshia Cole, and lest you think that T-Pain was totally giving up on digitally manipulating his voice for the purpose of topping the charts, the new track is an AutoTune-drenched affair that makes me think the whole lot of them should try and see what Britney Spears is up to. T-Pain Celebrates His Re-Embrace Of AutoTune With Sound Effects, Demands For Mass Toplessness

tpainPerhaps realizing that he was depressing sales of his AutoTuned iPhone app by releasing a digital-manipulation-free single over the weekend, T-Pain has released the real first single from his forthcoming album Revolver; it is a track that is all about the tweaking called “Take Your Shirt Off,” which features his voice making altered “ticka ticka” sounds that I’m pretty sure are supposed to stand in for one of the seven dirties. It even goes so far as to take Jay-Z to task and ask the still-burning question “Is AutoTune really dead?”—only he answers that query with “Take your shirt off,” which I guess is a non-non sequitur in the eyes of Teddy Pinned-Her-Ass. Sigh. [Nappy Boy Online / Earlier] More »

T-Pain Dispenses With One Unfortunate 21st-Century Trend, Blindly Clutches To Another

114416001-90x120Hat-wearing MC T-Pain has become somewhat notorious for his liberal use of AutoTune, which is why his new song “Dope”—which, he says during the introduction, is a taste of his forthcoming album—is surprising: There isn’t a blippy vocal to be found on the track. Instead, what you have is a lot of T-Pain very strenuously rhyming over a bumblebee-swarm beat, with the topic being how he’s rich and can afford to wear the BIG ASS CHAIN seen at left and blah blah blah blah blah. I dunno, I maybe would have rather heard the AutoTune than the bragging about his net worth, you know? There’s a reason I don’t watch those dumb Fabulous Life shows, either. Clip after the jump. T-Pain Continues His Campaign To Singlehandedly Save Florida

Dolphins event at Casa CasuarinaThe Miami Dolphins are trying to take the momentum from last year’s worst-to-first finish in the AFC East to a new level. Which is why the team’s higher-ups have enlisted T-Pain, who is one of the few positive stories coming out of the Sunshine State at this point, to Autotune the crap out of the team’s official fight song, the peppy “Miami Dolphins No. 1.” Sure, it may not cause all those players who quit training camp to return, but at least everyone can have a photo op with the cheerleaders! T-Pain For President Of Florida State University? Sure, Why Not?

n124491407272_5456Times have been tough at Florida State University, with the school’s president announcing that he was resigning and the school’s reputation as a party school falling short of that achieved by its in-state rival, the University of Florida. How will the university bounce back? One group of students has an idea: Make the Autotune-happy T-Pain, who just so happens to be from the Tallahassee area, the university’s next president. Hey, he does have a “proven track record of success,” or at least more than one single that was a hit from his most recent record. What more do you need these days? The next generation of student activists offers up their manifesto after the jump. More »

Taylor Swift Lives Out American Teenagers’ Rite Of Passage With T-Pain

As far as joke rappers go, Taylor Swift–who performed the above “Thug Story” with the ever-Autotuned T-Pain as part of last night’s CMT Awards–falls somewhere between Fred Durst and Rappin’ Rodney. Swift picked up two trophies for her actual “Love Story” clip, and the video’s director Trey Fanjoy also picked up the Director Of The Year award. The rest of the night… well, I’ll bet that even those of you with the most cursory knowledge of country music can probably ballpark the other artists who emerged victorious from the fan-voted proceedings. (One hint: Ginormous breakfasts!) Full list of winners after the jump. More »
