Justin Timberlake wasn’t the only high-profile guest to join host Jimmy Fallon last night (December 21) on Saturday Night Live. In between spot-on impressions of musical icons, Paul McCartney, Madonna and Bee GeesBarry Gibb showed up unannounced.

Well, sort of.

During his monologue, Fallon stood before four mics as he “confessed” that he invited his favorite musicians — David Bowie, Bob Dylan and McCartney — to the show, only for all of them to get caught in New York traffic. Then, in between impressions of Bowie and Dylan, McCartney strolls in for an effortless duet of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

Later on, Fallon and Timberlake team up for a sketch as the Bee Gees’ Robin and Barry Gibb, respectively, co-hosts of The Barry Gibb Show. (The talk show’s theme song? A revised version of the 1975 hit “Nights on Broadway,” later assisted by the actual Barry Gibb.) Of its guests, Madonna not only offers the most salient point, she even calms “Barry” down to the point where “Robin” calls her mythical, as if we didn’t know that.

Watch McCartney and Fallon’s duet up top, then see Madonna and Gibb’s appearances after the jump.
