Kesha’s New Song “Lover” Gets A Lyric Video: Watch

Kesha has been talking about her new music since this summer. She revealed that she was inspired by Stevie Nicks, and she promised not to make a “lullaby jazz album.” Then in November, an early version of a new song surfaced online, to further show that she’s going for the unexpected. “Lover,” co-produced by Spookey Ruben and Schpilkas, isn’t the sort of live-for-today anthem for which she’s become famous. It’s dark, brooding and trip hop-inspired – a far cry from “Timber.”

On December 5, Ruben released a lyric video for “Lover,” which features a studio version of the song – a welcome treat for Animals. Now, all that’s left is for Kesha to announce her official plans for the track. Some suggest that Kesha will officially drop “Lover” in February. Others say that it’s a one-off release for fans. Meanwhile, the pop star herself has yet to say a word.

For now, see the lyric video for Kesha’s “Lover” below.
