Kesha Talks New Music: “I Think People Are Gonna Trip Out”

Kesha has been prepping for the June 22 debut of ABC’s reality competition show Rising Star. She has also been writing new songs since she left rehab, though – and based on recent remarks, she intends on returning to music with a bang.

“It can borderline on trippy, a little different,” she said to MTV, of her new songs. “I think people are gonna trip out.” She also revealed that one song is about how maddening love can be, telling a guy, “If you cheat on me, I’ll shoot you. But I love you so much, and I just want to be your best friend, and I love you, but I’ll shoot you.” Yes.

Previously, Kesha revealed to her fans, Animals, that she had “tons of new music” in the works. She was also reportedly working with Zedd, the same EDM producer behind Lady Gaga‘s “G.U.Y.” She had promised Animals that she would be back soon – and, if recent comments by fellow Rising Star judge (and Kesha fan, apparently) Brad Paisley are also any indication, she will be just as lovably kooky as always.

“I’ve bought Kesha’s records. I love her attitude. I love that she’s the most unique singer out there. Her rock-pop sensibilities are gonna be a wonderful thing on his panel,” he said to Billboard.
