Beyonce kicked off the Formation World Tour in Miami, Florida last night (April 27) and treated The Hive to a choreography-filled extravaganza full of classic hits and a selection of tracks from new LP Lemonade. The 34-year-old even performed country experiment “Daddy Lessons” — complete with an intricate dance routine. However, that wasn’t the biggest surprise of the evening. Bey dug deep into her discography to dust off a bunch of unexpected gems.

5. “Standing On The Sun”

The inclusion of “Standing On The Sun” is mildly surprising given the fact that Bey only belted it out once on The Mrs. Carter Show tour and then decided against including it on her first visual album. A remixed version was eventually released on the Platinum Edition, but this is an unexpected treat for the Pop Hive.

4. “Runnin’ (Lose It All)”

Naughty Boy collaboration “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” was even less expected. Despite being a huge hit around the world, the game-changing diva pretends that it doesn’t exist. She didn’t appear in the video or promote the song, let alone perform it live. That changed last night and the world is a much better place for it.

3. “Die With You”

Penned by rising singer/songwriter Kirby, this tender ballad was released as a Tidal exclusive video last year. It didn’t make the cut on Lemonade (hopefully it will appear on the rumored deluxe edition) and a studio version has never leaked. That didn’t stop Queen Bey playing with our emotions by adding it to the Formation World Tour setlist.

2. “Lost Yo Mind”

Even though it only appears in a medley (alongside “I Been On,” “Independent Woman” and “Naughty Girl”), I’m ecstatic that this fan favorite finally got its moment in the sun. “Lost Yo Mind” was originally intended for the superstar’s B’Day album, but was ultimately relegated to Best Buy bonus track status. Which is outrageous given that it’s one of her fiercest bops. For a list of other lost classics click here.

1. “Hip Hop Star”

Of all the songs to revisit from Dangerously In Love, “Hip Hop Star” is one of the most obscure. (It ranks alongside “Gift from Virgo” and “Daddy” as one of Queen Bey’s least-cherished anthems). However, I’m here for it. The “Formation” diva has a habit of paying her debut album dust, so it’s nice to see her dig a little deeper into the past and give this a little love.
