Gabrielle Aplin's "Salvation" Remixed
German DJs HEYHEY transform Gabrielle Aplin's "Salvation" into a dreamy club hit.

Gabrielle Aplin fell victim to the sophomore curse worse than most. The singer/songwriter’s debut LP, English Rain, was a big seller in Europe and Australia on the back of hit cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s “The Power Of Love” and stripped-back ballad “Please Don’t Say You Love Me.” Unfortunately, she experienced less success with Light Up The Dark and was last heard from earlier this year when German DJs HEYHEY remixed her lovely 2014 single “Salvation.”

The Brit returns today with “Miss You,” the title track of her upcoming EP. From the psychedelic cover art, it’s clear that Gabrielle is doing things differently this time around and that’s also reflected in the music. She leaves behind the bare-bones production of her earlier work in favor of a more uptempo sound. Her knack for writing emotional lyrics, however, is still very much intact. “So what you been doing? I’ve been loving my life waking up on my own,” she sings to an ex, before coming clean about missing him in the chorus. Listen below.
