THE HEYDAZE are on a roll. The New York band generated serious buzz with pop/rock anthem “Hurt Like Hell” and back it up with an infectious track called “New Religion.” In many ways it picks up where their last song left off. “Sonically, [it’s] a companion to our first single, ‘Hurt Like Hell,’ with it’s jangly guitar line and anthemic chorus,” vocalist Jesse Fink tells Idolator. “The song describes the monotony of everyday life, but how meeting the right person can make life feel meaningful and exciting again.”

That really comes across on the catchy chorus. “People get lost in repetition, working and watching television,” he sings. “It’s hard to get up in the morning.” There’s an antidote to that, however. “Watching you dancing in the kitchen, like a god you’re my new religion.” The Heydaze signed to Island Records in 2015 after building a loyal online following with a series of DIY pop anthems and an independently-released EP. We’re excited to premiere their latest earworm below.
