German DJs HEYHEY transform Gabrielle's 'Salvation' into a dreamy club hit.

UK singer/songwriter Gabrielle Aplin is best known for her stripped-back, delicately composed folk-pop anthems. Which makes “Nothing Really Matters” (not a Madonna cover) something of a curve ball. The “Please Don’t Say You Love Me” hitmaker teams up with Lostboy to create an exuberant electro-pop anthem. “[It’s] about the battle between the excitement of wanting to open up, and the fear of opening up,” Gabrielle explains in the press release. “I was having one of those days where I questioned the validity and importance of everything around me.”

“[The song] is about focusing on what’s really important to you,” she continues. “I wanted to push myself vocally, challenge the way I think about structure in a song, experiment with how I say what I need to say lyrically, whilst still focusing on what it is that makes me the artist I am. This song has really pushed me and surprised me.” Gabrielle’s dance-pop moment follows the sparse (but equally lovely) “My Mistake” as the second single from her upcoming third LP. Listen below.
