“Amnesia” Bonus track: Circus

To be fair, Britney always warned us that she’s not that innocent in the past. And on 2008’s Circus bonus track, “Amnesia,” she’s certainly walking the walk: The Fernando Garibay-produced extramarital fling is one of Britney’s more salacious numbers (lyrically speaking, anyway), as the sensual seductress spots a hottie in a parking lot (Bonnie McKee‘s 7-11 parking lot, maybe?), suddenly forgets her prior commitment and goes rogue: “I forgot my address, damsel in distress / I forgot my boyfriend was the one that had bought me this rock!” she innocently sing-songs.

With its slick ’80’s electro-pop strut and fierce, swoon-filled delivery, “Amnesia” is all sorts of Gwen Stefani‘s Love Angel Music Baby relness in the best way possible. “Didn’t know it was over ’til you came on over,” she declares. Sorry, K-Fed — but why should she be sad?

“Autumn Goodbye” B-Side: “…Baby One More Time”

In a way, “Autumn Goodbye” is as iconic as “…Baby One More Time” — well, sort of. After all, it was Britney’s first-ever B-side! Recorded with Eric Foster White in 1997 — yes, that’s a 16-year-old Brit Brit singing on this track! — the song’s a prime example of Brit’s capably soulful pop chops that she showed off during her …Baby One More Time beginnings.

From that very first yelp of “I never promised you a happy ending!”, there’s simply no stopping this stomping ’90’s cheese-fest. (“Red leaves and blue tomorrows”? Talk about actual ARTPOP.) The cheery break-up anthem remains a staple soundtrack for leaving your summertime sweetie on the “Sometimes” pier to ship off to college, or discover yourself on a cross-country road trip with your besties.

It’s fine, though — you two will always have e-mail.
