Azealia Banks Hypes Her Collaboration With Iggy Azalea
After years of hatred and ill will, Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea buried the hatchet and shocked just about everyone by agreeing to a collaboration. The “212” rapper gave fans an update on the endeavor yesterday (July 11), tweeting: “I got the track from @IGGYAZALEA .. it’s officially on.” Her verdict? “I had a first listen, and …. pfft. You guys aren’t ready.” She could be right about the last bit. As dubious as I am about this song, I’m starting to think it’s a) great damage control for their respective images and b) perfect timing to regain a little momentum.
In case you’re still confused about Azealia’s change of heart, she recently posted a glowing statement about her former rival. “Yes, [Iggy] and I had our differences in the past, but we were so young and that was so long ago,” someone, probably not her, wrote on Instagram. “She and I are both on a whole other level right now, and I have nothing but respect for her as a woman, an artist, and a businesswoman. As such, I’m thrilled for the opportunity to work with her.” See Azealia’s tweet below.
