Katy Perry Co-Wrote Britney Spears’ “Passenger” With Sia & Diplo

Britney Spears may have sprung a leak with her recent Britney Jean track “Passenger,” but as details about her upcoming opus continue dribbling out, that song’s pedigree just got a little bit more interesting: On Twitter last night, producer Diplo revealed that he wrote the song alongside top-notch singer-songwriter Sia (who also penned “Perfume”) and Katy Perry. (The tweet has since been deleted, but hey, the Internet never forgets.)

Popjustice suggests that given that Diplo said in an interview over the summer that he’d been writing with Perry, and since Perry and Sia have collaborated in the past (notably on “Double Rainbow”), it’s not unreasonable to think that the song might have been for Prism but didn’t make the cut — although frankly, now that Spears’ vocals are on it, it’s hard to imagine the song belonging to anyone else.

Britney Jean drops December 3.
