Justin Bieber has spent much of 2015 explaining himself and recalibrating his career, and along the way he has revealed bits and pieces about his next studio album. Today (July 29) during his interview with Ryan Seacrest, the singer announced that the first single from that Selena Gomez-inspired full-length is called “What Do You Mean” and it’ll be released on August 28.

That’s 30 days away, and Bieber started a countdown on Twitter to mark the announcement.

The single was produced by Jason “Pooh Bear” Boyd, and Biebs describes it as “amazing” and “uptempo. It’s fun, it’s summery.” As for the song’s meaning, it’s based on that slightly antiquated cliche of a man not picking up what his lady’s putting down.

“Girls are often flip-floppy. They say something, and then they mean something else,” Bieber told Seacrest about the song. “‘What do you mean?’…I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking.”

Bieber previously said his new LP will be co-produced by none other than Yeezus architects Kanye West and Rick Rubin (and which may have a Kehlani feature). The star also told Seacrest it’s an uplifting project, and in the process seemed to indicate his “Where Are U Now” collaborator Skrillex also played a role.

“It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool,” he said. “The sounds are super expensive. Skrilex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound. So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I’m doing has been super cool because it’s new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I’m very excited.”
