Cobra Starship‘s Gabe Saporta spends a fun day frolicking with the ladies of Icona Pop in their video for “Never Been In Love.” The Wallpaper.-produced party jam (which sample’s Fatboy Slim‘s ’90s stomper “Praise You”) first premiered in the late summer, but all involved have turned out a fall season-appropriate visual wherein our three main jacket-clad heroes goof around — first on the streets of Stockholm, then in a gritty nightclub before eventually winding up among the rides and games at a carnival.
Ariana Grande has many musical influences, but who knew Imogen Heap was one of them? Last Saturday, the “Love Me Harder” mini-diva uploaded an Instagram video that showed her and the British singer-songwriter having dinner. Judging by both of their exclamation point-laden posts, the two apparently enjoyed each other’s company.
Grande wrote, “most surreal night of my life. thank you so much again to my favorite person on earth, and my idol for so many years @imogenheap for the sweetest, home cooked, vegan dinner and the spontaneous lesson in mimu gloves!!!” The UK entertainer took to her blog, stating “A lovely time was had and was amazing hearing about her world. Crazy!” Last January, Grande covered the 2005 single “Just For Now” from Heap’s sophomore album Speak For Yourself.
Eric Hutchinson is about to have an incredible Autumn.
Beginning next week in Boston, the singer-songwriter will be embarking on a massive U.S. tour in support of his latest album Pure Fiction, which recently spawned his new single, “A Little More.” And he’s not going it alone: Tristan Prettyman will be teaming up with the crooner on the road.
The City & Sand Tour — cleverly named because of Eric’s NYC status and Tristan’s SoCal roots — will be hitting up over two dozen stops across America in the coming weeks. From Eric: “Tristan and I have been friends for a long time and I’ve always wanted to play together. This tour has been years in the making and finally the stars aligned perfectly. I can’t wait to share the stage with her.”
Do you want a chance to see Eric and Tristan take to the stage in a city near you? Find out how to win after the jump. More »
It’s back-to-back-to-back country albums on top of the Billboard 200, as Florida Georgia Line debut at #1 with Anything Goes (197,000 sold) following chart-topping stints by Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean in recent weeks. Also, Bob Seger follows follows the trend of veteran acts making a big showing in the Top 10 lately (see: Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett and Stevie Nicks) by debuting at #3 with his 17th studio album Ride Out (59,000).
That leaves Pink and Dallas Green (aka You+Me) to go in at #4 with rose ave. (50,000), which, if you can wrap your head around it, is actually the third-best chart position ever for a Pink album. The only two that did better: 2008′s Funhouse (#2) and 2012′s The Truth About Love (#1). More »
Kelly Clarkson seriously loves her some Christmas, y’all.
From her seasonal smash record Wrapped In Red to her upcoming Christmas benefit concert down in Nashville, the Idol alum is showing no signs of ceasing the festivity any time soon.
To keep the spirit going strong as she records her forthcoming original studio album, Kelly’s dropping a re-release of her 2013 Christmas album at Walmart, which will also be bundled with a DVD of her Christmas special, Kelly’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale, which aired last year on NBC and saw special guest appearances from a ton of stars, including Reba, Trisha Yearwood and Blake Shelton. Will this lead to another #1 on the Billboard’s Top Holiday Albums chart this year? It’s quite likely. Check out the tracklisting for the CD/DVD after the jump. More »

Back in early September, there were rumors swirling around Taylor Swift possibly joining The Voice as an advisor. Well guys, the news has now been confirmed! The “Welcome To New York” singer will be saying welcome to Hollywood when she appears on the singing competition show next week.
In a new promotional clip, Swift is shown interacting with the contestants and the judges — and she even pokes fun at herself! She calls her craziness “assumed and understood,” and shows off a few dance moves. Beginning on Monday, October 27 (the release date of her 1989 album, by the way) she will be in three episodes for the show’s “Knockout” rounds. More »
In case you haven’t already watched the trailer or seen the new cast (Quvenzhané Wallis! Cameron Diaz!), the classic Annie is getting a massive 2014 reboot in time for Christmas. And, to coincide with the big budget remake of the original 1982 film adaptation, the movie’s also getting a newly rejuvenated soundtrack with updated lyrics and melodies, all thanks to producer Greg Kurstin and the pop industry’s most in-demand songwriter, Sia.
The ever-elusive 1000 Forms Of Fear belter delivers not one, not two but three new tracks on the soundtrack including a duet with Beck. And now, we’ve got a first listen of one of those new songs: “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile.”
True to Sia and Greg’s collaborative style, the song’s been given a punchy, poppy update, full of Sia’s soaring vocals and epic, crashing production from Kurstin. Really, aside from Sia’s more chipper and optimistic delivery, this production could have certainly been served up on her fantastic studio album. Listen to “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile” after the jump. More »
That Taylor Swift promo just won’t let up! The “Out Of The Woods” singer has previewed yet another track off her upcoming LP 1989. Instead of revealing the lyrics via Pinterest-friendly Instagram posts, she’s now using Target as her marketing tool.
In a new extended commercial for the popular department store, Swift discusses her love for New York City (she recently moved here, FYI). The clip is set to “Style,” a breezy cut off her new album. 1989 officially comes out on October 27, and if you buy the album at Target then you will get three bonus songs and three songwriting voice memos on the deluxe version. Oh joy! More »
Maybe it was the fact that we here at Idolator included Rachel Stevens‘ 2005 solo LP Come And Get It in our recent 13 Great Pop Albums That Were Overlooked & Underrated In Their Time roundup that lured the singer back to the spotlight? Whatever the case may be, she and her onetime bandmates Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt — aka S Club 7 — are reuniting for the first time in 12 years for a live performance on the annual BBC Children In Need charity show.
Here in the States the group was mostly famous for their late-’90s Fox series S Club 7 In Miami and 2000 single “Never Had A Dream Come True.” But in their home country of the UK, S Club 7 racked up 11 Top 10 singles during their five-year run, with four of those going to #1. More »
