Katy Perry Performs “Bon Appetit” With Dancing Fruit On ‘The Voice France’
Katy Perry delighted at last night’s (June 4) One Love Manchester concert, but it wasn’t her only European performance of the weekend. The pop star also dropped by The Voice France and belted out two tracks from her new LP. She donned a chef-inspired dress for a campy rendition of “Bon Appetit” — complete with dancers dressed as fruit. In many ways, it was a throwback to the Teenage Dream era with its tongue-in-cheek sexiness and kitsch presentation. The 32-year-old then teamed up with contestants for a cute sing-along of “Chained To The Rhythm.”
Expect to see a lot more from Katy this week as she rolls out Witness on Friday (June 9). The album finds the “Rise” diva experimenting with genres (so we’re had reggae, ’90s house and hip-hop) and pushing the boundaries visually. That was always going to ruffle some feathers, but she is sticking to her guns and forging ahead. Hopefully, the video for “Swish Swish” isn’t too far off. It’s shaping up to be the project’s breakout pop moment. While we wait for that, watch her in action up top and below.
