Sheryl Crow Wasn’t A Fan Of Jennifer Lopez’s Performance At The American Music Awards: “Less Pole Dancing Please”

Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea closed the American Music Awards last night (November 23) with a jaw-dropping performance of Diplo-produced club-banger “Booty”. It was generally praised as one of the best moments of an otherwise lackluster night but the sexy spectacle obviously didn’t sit well with Sheryl Crow. The veteran singer/songwriter jumped on Twitter to ask for: “More real singing, less pole dancing please.”

She was referring to the segment where J.Lo and Iggy twirled around a stripper pole in swimsuits/leotards. While I agree with Sheryl about the singing — the whole night was littered with underwhelming vocal performances — it seems odd that she would use her platform for misguided slut-shaming. Jennifer sang live while dancing around the stage like a woman possessed and still managed to look sexy, powerful and in control. She also deserves props for being only one of two women over 40 to perform at the AMAs. See the “Strong Enough” hitmaker’s tweet after the jump. More »

K. Michelle croons her 'Anybody' ballad. Watch!

It feels like every day, we’re treated to a new excerpt from the diary of K. Michelle.

Today, the talented Love & Hip Hop starlet-turned-R&B siren has unveiled the fourth track from her forthcoming studio album Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart, following the release of “Love ‘Em All,” “Maybe I Should Call” and “How Do You Know?”

The synth-filled electro-R&B jam sees the songstress slipping down beneath the surface, baring her soul and expressing her doubts. “Who’s gonna pick me up? Who’s gonna give a f–k? Oh, who’s gonna go the mile? Fly me to the clouds?” she cries. Like her past few releases off of Anybody, “Going Under” proves that K’s diving deeper lyrically and providing more depth production-wise on her highly anticipated follow-up.

Take a listen to the hometown-repping, 'Shady XV' collaboration track.

Eminem has released the video for his empowering anthem, “Guts Over Fear” featuring Sia. The Syndrome-directed clip is very cinematic, as it shows a motivated boxer who deals with heavy adversities: a pregnant girlfriend, eviction, many past-due bills and more. The controversial rapper performs the song throughout the video in a bare warehouse. The “Chandelier” diva doesn’t make an appearance, instead a blonde bob-wearing model Chantelle Brown-Young is shown.

Eminem’s Shady XV compilation album drops today (November 24). It features classic tracks like the popular “Lose Yourself,” 50 Cent‘s “In Da Club” and D12‘s “My Band.” More »
