In case you have yet to tire of Miley Cyrus‘ nonstop ass assault or twerking or overall cabaret of nudity, then you’ll be thrilled to watch her latest couple of Instagram videos below. Granted, the butt in question is the artificial one she wears on stage for her Bangerz Tour. But just suspend the disbelief, pop perverts, and clutch your candy while taking in the probably-NSFW clips below. More »
Lorde will never be a royal…but perhaps she’s down with being a God?
According to a new item today in Page Six (so go ahead and take this one with a heavy grain of salt), rapper/media fixation Kanye West is reportedly eying a collaboration with the Pure Heroine brooding alt-pop songstress.
From Page Six:
Kanye West is back from his concert dates in Australia and is about to start recording with Lorde, sources tell Page Six. After his headline-grabbing appearance in Sydney, West touched down in LA on Tuesday with Kim Kardashian and baby North and is ready to head back into the studio with the edgy female artist. Music industry sources say it makes sense for West and Lorde to record together — she has cited the rapper as an influence and covered his songs on tour, including “Flashing Lights” and the “Yeezus” track “Hold My Liquor.” Their reps didn’t get back to us.
Chris Brown‘s sixth studio LP X dropped this week and it’s predicted to debut at number two on the Billboard 200 with an extremely healthy opening bow of 130,000+ copies. (The only thing standing between the 25-year-old and another number one album is Barbra Streisand‘s duets LP Partners, believe it or not). Not bad considering promo was interrupted by a stint in jail!
Not only does the album boast a batch of hits (“X”, “Loyal” and “New Flame”) and some high-profile collaborators (Usher, Kendrick Lamar and Jhene Aiko), it also has a pretty wicked booklet full of black-and-white Breezy pics. He incorporates crosses into each snap and shows off his impressive six-pack, which happily survived prison food intact. More »
When we interviewed Clean Bandit this past spring, we obviously had quite a crush on the UK band’s addictive pop-meets-house-meets-classical sound, but we had no idea how big their crossover hit “Rather Be” would become in America. Fast forward to September, a time when the quartet’s Jess Glynne-featuring single has been hovering just outside of the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for several weeks and they’ve been trekking across the States doing live shows in support of their debut LP New Eyes.
Neil, Grace and brothers Jack and Luke played at New York City’s Webster Hall on Tuesday evening, then followed that up with a performance of “Rather Be” (sans Jess Glynne, but with vocalist Elisabeth Troy in tow) on Good Morning America. More »
America’s Got Talent crowned a new winner during their live grand finale yesterday night at Radio City Music Hall. So, what better way to celebrate than by enlisting Mr. Worldwide and some of New York’s most talented dancing divas to bring the house down?
After an extended intro by the leggy dancers, international playboy Pitbull arrived on a smaller stage, setting the room ablaze with his latest party anthem, “Fireball.” The superstar shimmied down the aisle to the stage and ran all over the place (and around the judges!), bringing it down and taking it back up again with the girls. Who knows? If this whole pop star thing doesn’t work out, he’s always got a shot strutting his stuff with The Rockettes.
Check out Pitbull’s finale performance of “Fireball” up top, and let us know what you thought in the comments below. More »
Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga and Barbra Streisand aren’t the only ones turning to the classics for fall album releases. Annie Lennox will release her own set of standards, titled Nostalgia, first on vinyl on September 30, and then on all other formats the following month, on October 21.
Lennox’s first music video offering from the set is for “I Put A Spell On You,” a song penned in 1956 by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and later made famous by jazz-pop legend Nina Simone. More of a live performance clip than a traditional, plot-driven music video, Annie’s visual shows the iconic Scot dancing and swaying to the song as a bluesy band an full orchestra play along. More »
We’ve been dancing all over the place to Eden XO‘s bouncy new bop “Too Cool To Dance” ever since we premiered the tune right here on Idolator — and now it’s got a sparkling visual to keep us moving and grooving.
Summer’s not over just yet in the Sarah McColgan-directed clip, which sees the shape-shifting pop siren enjoying a nice serving of TV dinner with some old folks, chilling by the pool, grooving to the sound of her Beats headphones and of course, serving up some sweet choreography in the street with her pals. Actually, everyone’s getting down to the sound of her dance-themed tune. And by the end, it’s one big ol’ party with a whole host of zany characters! See? No one is too cool to dance.

It’s been over sixteen years now since Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice!) famously left The Spice Girls at the height of their popularity in 1998, and Mel B is still recalling the bitterness in the group that followed her unexpected exit.
During an interview with Larry King, Scary Spice — who just wrapped up her latest stint as an America’s Got Talent judge — revealed that their “5 year plan” for the group got cut short to 3 years after Geri suddenly quit the band due to ongoing pressure she was dealing with regarding body image and depression. “When Geri left the group, it was bad,” she told King. “She left on my birthday and didn’t tell anybody. She just didn’t show up. We had the rest of the tour, the American part of the tour,” she explained. (Also, it appears Larry is just now learning that Geri left the group.)
Was there bitterness? “Yeah, for a long time,” she revealed. “I’m still reminded of it. I saw her a couple weeks ago and said ‘Remember when you left on my birthday?’” she laughs, sounding a bit irked. (We were too!)
While nothing will ever top the Spice Girls at their peak, it’s nice to see that the girls have all gone on to do great things for themselves as individuals nearly two decades later. Besides — we will always have girl power. (And Spice World.) More »
How did we ever keep up with Eminem‘s Speedy Gonzalez-rapping before the invention of lyric videos? The latest such clip for an Em cut, “Guts For Fear,” has arrived and, well, not much really happens in it save for his and featured vocalist Sia‘s lyrics flying by over what looks like a Google Maps view of a city.
The song itself is from upcoming Denzel Washington flick The Equalizer (in theaters on September 26). Follow along with this hit-making pair as they present you with their lyrical guts above. More »
The Duff Comeback continues.
After heading down under to X Factor Australia for a peppy performance (with a little hoedown choreography!) and supplying us with a cute acoustic live performance, Hilary Duff is now prepared to roll out the accompanying video for her folky, flirty new single, “All About You.”
Last night, the pop princess posted a teaser on her Instagram as she reviewed the final edits of her video on dueling iPads — and it looks like the shirt-flinging, line dancing choreography from her X Factor performance is making the cut! Though it’s just a brief tease of the visual, HilDuff looks absolutely gorgeous, as per usual. Watch for the video to drop in full on September 24.
