Chet Faker And Flume Posted A Shirtless Pic Together: This Is Basically Hipster Porn

Chet Faker and Flume drove Instagram hipsters (and other thirsty types) into a frenzy by posting a shirtless pic together last night (September 30). The Australian indie-darlings, who broke internationally with an epic collaboration called “Drop The Game”, are both currently on tour in their homeland and were obviously looking for some kind of relief from the heat.

Apart from upping their Instagram game, the rising stars are also busily promoting new projects. Chet (real name Nick Murphy) just released “Gold” (make sure you watch the genius Hiro Murai-directed video) as the latest single from critically acclaimed debut LP Built On Glass, while Flume (otherwise known as Harley Edward Streten) recently remixed Lorde‘s “Tennis Court” and made it even better. Nicole Scherzinger’s New Single “Run” Sounds Even Better Live: Watch Her Incredible Performance

Prepare To Be Slayed!

When you see Nicole Scherzinger strut her stuff live it’s unfathomable that she isn’t an even bigger star. The former Pussycat Doll performed new US single “Run” on Access Hollywood Live yesterday (September 30) and knocked it out of the park — oozing raw emotion and delivering goosebumps-inducing vocal acrobatics. In an era of struggle runs and playback, she is utterly refreshing.

Produced by Felix Snow, who is perhaps best known for his work with SZA, “Run” is an old-fashioned power ballad with a beautifully understated arrangement. It’s a brave change of pace for Nicole — she is the queen of sexy club bangers — but might just be left-field enough to work stateside. Her debut US album Big Fat Lie is expected to be released here early next year. Watch her stunning performance after the jump. More »

Miley Cyrus Whips Out Her Boobs On Instagram (Again): See The Pop Diva’s Sexy Bath Antics

It’s been a minute since Miley Cyrus stripped off for a magazine shoot or single cover, so last night’s (September 30) sexy Instagram spree will come as sweet relief for restless fans thirsting for new nudes. The Bangerz diva really came through with an alluring bath pic. She’s topless — of course — with shiny disco balls cover her nipples. Now that’s what I call ARTPOP.

The 21-year-old also shared a bath video (it’s pretty tame by her standards) and another topless pic in bed, this time with flowers covering her breasts. “I like this daisy tit edit,” she elegantly captioned the black-and-white image. When is Miley going to come back with new music? Pop is really boring without her attention-whoring ways and iconic self-promotion. See the other pics and video after the jump. More »

Happy Sam!

Sam Smith recently sat down with Ryan Seacrest to chat it up on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest. In the interview, the “Restart” crooner spoke about how he’s handling the great success of In The Lonely Hour and that he’s started to write songs for his next album.

The singer reveals he was a bit nervous to release his debut, as he didn’t want people to think he was miserable: “I was scared before releasing this record because obviously Adele did her sad record, and there’s a lot of sad music out there. I don’t want to be sad as a person, but it’s where I was last year.”

He also shares the story behind “I’m Not The Only One,” which was about a married couple that he knew: “That song always makes me laugh, because I was really hungover when I vocaled it…it all added to the vibe. That very vocal was a hungover vocal!” More »

Behind The Boards: How Ricky Reed Became One Of The Game’s Hottest Producers

Ricky Reed was perhaps better-known as the frontman of hip-hop/pop collective Wallpaper until he co-produced Jason Derulo‘s monster hit “Talk Dirty” and instantly became one of the game’s hottest hitmakers. The influence of that song (and its killer sax hook) can be heard in everything from Ariana Grande‘s summer smash “Problem” to Cheryl Cole‘s UK chart-topper “Crazy Stupid Love”.

I spoke to Mr. Reed about the creative process behind “Talk Dirty” — it was originally intended for Missy Elliott! — and the opportunities that have since come his way. Like production duties on Fifth Harmony‘s recent earworm “Bo$$”, Jessie J‘s current single “Burnin’ Up” and an unlikely but exciting collaboration with country superstar Tim McGraw. 7 Questions With Ferras: His Obsession With Aliens, Friendship With Katy Perry & “Speak In Tongues” Video

Ferras made headlines earlier this year when he became the first artist signed to Metamorphosis Music — otherwise known as Katy Perry‘s very own record label. He wasted no time dropping an excellent self-titled EP and even convinced his boss/close friend to share vocal duties on power ballad “Legends Never Die”. It was a complete rebirth for an impossible-to-pigeonhole artist, who never got his due the first time around.

The 30-year-old alien enthusiast dropped by the Idolator studio to chat about his new music and opened up about signing to Katy’s label, the evolution of their above-mentioned duet and even his favorite song on Prism. (He has great taste!) Ferras also spoke about the soon-to-be-released video for EP highlight “Speak In Tongues” and his experiences as an out artist. Watch after the jump. More »

Match Made In Heaven

There’s still speculation whether or not Kendrick Lamar and Prince are working on a collaboration, and the two fueled the rumor mill by performing together on stage! The rapper joined the music legend for the album release celebration for Art Official Age and 3RDEYEGIRL‘s PLECTRUMELECTRUM, at the historic Paisley Park studios.

During the broadcasted performance on Yahoo, Lamar came on stage to add an energetic verse to Prince’s “What’s My Name” – a rare track from the 1988 Crystal Ball box set. It’s clear that Prince is a fan of the younger generation of artists – he recently played a brief snippet of his song with Rita Ora. More »

Tony Bennett And Lady Gaga’s ‘Cheek To Cheek’ Barely Outsells Kenny Chesney, Tops Album Chart

The race for #1 on the Billboard 200 over the past week was a tight one, but in the end it was Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga who (barely) won it. The pair’s collaborative album of jazz duets, Cheek To Cheek, topped the main album chart after selling 131,000 copies, thus giving 88-year-old Bennett his second #1 LP (after 2011′s Duets II) and 28-year-old Gaga her third (following 2011′s Born This Way and 2013′s ARTPOP).

Just behind Cheek To Cheek is Kenny Chesney‘s 17th studio LP The Big Revival, at #2 (130,000). Giving both a run for their money was last week’s #1 album, Barbra Streisand‘s Partners, which slips to #3 after selling another 127,000 copies.

Head below to see where the rest of this week’s players wound up on the album chart. More »

Rita Ora Gets Dark & Edgy On New Prince Collaboration: Listen To A Snippet

As part of the celebration for his new albums, his solo Art Official Age and 3RDEYEGIRL‘s PLECTRUMELECTRUM (which both dropped on September 30)Prince gave fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look of the release party. Along with a tour of his Paisley Park studio and a 20-minute live set of new music, the rocker also previewed a new track with Rita Ora.

Before his concert, Prince asked Josh Welton (the co-producer of Art Official Age) to play the snippet featuring Ora. What came out of the speakers is a sound we typically don’t associate with the “I Will Never Let You Down” singer. Instead of her comfort zone of bubbly synths, the song reveals edgy vocals that are laid over a savage, electronic-based production fit for a rockstar. More »

Lana Del Rey To Be Covered By Supreme Diva Jessica Lange On ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’?

Who from the cast of American Horror Story has the chops to cover Lana Del Rey during upcoming season Freak Show? Why, the Supreme, of course, Jessica Lange…at least according to a hinting tweet posted by AHS show runner Ryan Murphy.

A fan of the show tweeted at Murphy last night, “I’ve been a loyal viewer but I am OUT on this one…between trailers and your comments, it is more than I can handle ” This prompted Murphy to respond with the following: “Tina, don’t be afraid! The clown is scary, true. But don’t you wanna see Jessica Lange sing a Lana Del Rey song?” More »
