From One Direction to Sam Smith, see who all won what at the 2014 AMAs.

No statues were handed over to Ariana Grande during last night’s American Music Awards, but she did spend quite a lot of time on stage performing both a medley of her Top 10 hits from this year and “Bang Bang,” her joint single with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj. Following that, Ari’s holiday single “Santa Tell Me” went on sale at midnight on the iTunes store.

Overall, it’s a cute, harmless stocking stuffer that ticks all the necessary boxes, in that there’s classic instrumentation, a hummable chorus and lyrics that reflect a mixture of the festive season with the possibility of heartbreak at the holidays. Added bonus: a choir of backing vocalists — or should we say Christmas carolers? —  pipe in at the end, giving the mid-tempo track quite a peak moment. Listen below. More »

Iggy Azalea Teams Up With Ellie Goulding On “Heavy Crown”: Listen To The ‘Reclassified’ Track

Ellie Goulding Confirms New Album For 2015
Ellie Goulding Confirms New Album For 2015
The singer plans to drop new music next year!

Iggy Azalea previously gave fans a snippet of her collaboration with Ellie Goulding, and now the full version is here! Titled “Heavy Crown,” the Reclassified track boasts female power and kissing off all the haters (“Iggy Iggy ain’t never been nothing to play with!”)

The hard-hitting, thumping tune finds Azalea switching up her usually laid-back flow with a snarled, teeth-baring rap — which is juxtaposed by Goulding’s chilling vocals.

Reclassified is officially out today (November 24), and features new tracks like “Beg For It,” “Iggy SZN,” “Black Widow” and more! Take a listen to “Heavy Crown” after the jump! More »

Kool Ideas, Katy!
Taylor Swift Receives Award From Diana Ross
Taylor Swift Receives Award From Diana Ross
Taylor Swift was presented with an incredible honor at last night's AMAs.

Yes, we already knew this one was coming for a while, but now it’s really, really real: Katy Perry will officially be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime show in February 2015. And she’s already got tons of ideas!

Last night, the Queen Of The KatyCats (and Radio’s Top Artist of 2014!) premiered a silly promotional video announcing her upcoming performance and showcasing all the stuff she’s working on in the background while she gets ready for the show — and she’s really hard at work coming up with some out-of-the-box (err, stadium) ideas in her Super Bowl show testing facility: Edible glitter, robots, mythical creatures, a bacon-wrapped ride on a fire-breathing shark….you know, stuff like that.

It sure looks like she’s funneling all her creative energy into a massively action-packed performance! Check out Katy giving us a behind-the-scenes peek at what will surely be the zaniest Super Bowl Halftime show yet up top, and let us know what you think in the comments below. More »

Taylor Swift was presented with an incredible honor at last night’s American Music Awards! The “Blank Space” starlet won the first-ever Dick Clark Award for Excellence, presented by the legendary diva Diana Ross. During her speech, the singer made a point to highlight the hard work of musicians (possible shade thrown at Spotify, maybe?):

“What you did by going out and investing in music and albums is you are saying that you believe in the same thing that I believe in. Music is valuable and music should be consumed in albums and albums should be consumed as art and appreciated.”

The singer has been wrapping up 2014 in a major way! Her fifth studio LP, 1989, debuted at the number one spot on Billboard 200 with 1.3 million copies sold — beating out The Eminem Show for the highest first-week sales record.

American Music Awards 2014: Bleona’s Breasts, Rita Ora’s Yellow Frock & Other Stunning Pop Divas

While most pop divas arrived at tonight’s (November 23) American Music Awards in Los Angeles in formal wear, a couple of brave ladies decided to have a little fun. The Award for attention-seeking/fabulousness goes to Albanian pop star Bleona. She rocked up to the event wearing a sheer body stocking with only pasties for coverage. Respect. Skylar Grey also had zero fucks to spare — wearing a beanie and male rap drag. Again, well-played.

Other noteworthy outfits belonged to Rita Ora, who looked typically stunning in a canary yellow gown and girl-next-door Becky G. She transformed herself into a very sophisticated lady in her gorgeous white dress. Oh and let’s not forget Zendaya, who turned up looking like Diana Ross circa 1974 in a gold lame pantsuit. Mary Lambert, Katy Tiz and Mary J. Blige all looked amazing but Jessie J had the best accessory — boyfriend Luke James. More »

American Music Awards 2014: One Direction Rocked The Red Carpet

One Direction rocked the red carpet at tonight’s (November 23) American Music Awards in Los Angeles in their coordinated black outfits. The boys looked pretty glum (with the exception of a beaming Liam Payne) and that was reflected by their clothes. Louis Tomlinson could have been mistaken for a loan shark/bouncer, while Harry Styles looked like a grieving folk singer. Zayn Malik looked sharp but dazed, while Niall Horan was the odd man out in a t-shirt.

There fashion sense might be a little questionable but there’s no doubting their status as the most successful boy band in the world. Their fourth LP — the appropriately-titled Four — delivered the year’s second-biggest sales tally after Taylor Swift‘s all-conquering 1989. (Take that 5 Seconds Of Summer!) The guys also won the American Music Award for favorite pop/rock album for their last opus Midnight Memories. See all their pics up top. More »

American Music Awards: List Of Winners
American Music Awards: List Of Winners
See who all won what at the 2014 American Music Awards.

The 2014 American Music Awards got off to a thrilling start for Swifties on Sunday night (November 23), as Taylor Swift took the stage at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre L.A. Live and performed her latest 1989 single “Blank Space.” Adding a bit of dale to the evening was host Pitbull, who also slipped on his performing shoes when it came time to hit the stage for “Fireball.”

One particular highlight was Sam Smith‘s fantastic, flawless outing with “I’m Not The Only One.” He did what many of his contemporaries couldn’t do throughout the night: he sang without the aid of a backing vocal track. But without a doubt, it was Jennifer Lopez who stole the entire show with her jaw-dropping performance of “Booty.”

American Music Awards 2014: Charli XCX Looked Suitably Fancy On The Red Carpet

When your breakthrough hit is called “Fancy”, there’s extra pressure to look it on the red carpet. Charli XCX certainly rose to the occasion at tonight’s (November 23) American Music Awards in Los Angeles. She followed the trend of wearing a formal gown but still managed to sex things up with the garment’s very low cut. The 22-year-old is shaping up to be one of the game’s surprise glamour girls.

After heating up the red carpet, Iggy Azalea‘s recent collaborator hit the stage to perform new single “Break The Rules”. Thus far, it hasn’t caused much damage on the Billboard Hot 100 — the catchy jam actually hasn’t charted at all — but that could have more to do with radio still spinning her last hit “Boom Clap”. Charli’s crazy performance will no doubt be invaluable promo. Her much-anticipated sophomore LP Sucker drops December 16. More »
