Seattle indie rockers Fences team up with hip-hop super duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on brand new track “Arrows,” a thumping, whimsical number that is bound to be a serious contender on the Hot 100 scene. However, it’s certainly not the first time the two groups have collaborated together. Not only are Fences frontman Christopher Mansfield and Macklemore good buddies, Chris actually co-wrote song “10,000 Hours” for the Grammy-winning duo’s breakout LP The Heist.
“Fences is a good friend,” Macklemore told Billboard. “He’s fucked up in the same way that I’m fucked up. Because of that, our lives relate beyond the music. I’ve always admired his talent for illustrating with words and evoking imagery. We’ve made a bunch of stuff together over the years, and this here song about ‘Arrows’ is my favorite one we’ve done.”

Mother Monster Lady Gaga and music legend Tony Bennett had nothing but praise for each other once they stepped out of a silver Rolls Royce and talked with Carson Daly on the TODAY show this morning. The pair are now officially on the promo slog for their upcoming joint LP of jazzy standards, Cheek To Cheek, and its lead single “Anything Goes.”
“He’s a legend and it’s a total honor to be singing with him,” Gaga said of her musical companion, Bennett. “He’s really changed my life, asking me to sing this record with him. I’ve been singing jazz since I was 13 years old and Tony was the first person that knew that.” More »
Neon Hitch! It’s a name we haven’t heard for a minute, but one we’re more than happy to see appear on our radar once again.
As the “Get Over U” fiery gypsy-pop princess has continued to evolve as an artist, the singer’s released a smattering of tunes over the past year, including her gorgeous cover of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” last year and her electronic take on Marilyn Monroe‘s classic “Some Like It Hot” with Kinetics.
Now, Neon’s cleaning out her closet and getting rid of all her old junk — and what better way to do it than a yard sale?
“Yard Sale” is Neon’s very solid return to form, dedicated to “leaving the past behind and letting go of the stuff you don’t need – literally and emotionally.” The song sees Neon cathartically crooning on top of a stomping (sort of pirate-y?) electronic pulse. “I’m having a yard sale, giving away all the things I used to call my own/I’m having a yard sale, giving away all the memories that used to feel like home,” she happily declares across the chorus.
The track is just as Top 40 radio-friendly as anything she’s ever done — she’s always been a fantastic pop songwriter, after all! — and it’s nice to hear the girl getting it together and tossing out the trash she doesn’t need anymore before the release of her long delayed, much anticipated debut, Eleutheromaniac.

Her ARTPOP really could mean anything.
As we’ve known for a while, Lady Gaga‘s briefly ditched her Koons balls and Aphrodite Lady garden panties to jazz it up with the legendary Mr. Tony Bennett for their long-awaited duet LP, Cheek To Cheek, due out in September.
After dropping “Anything Goes” off on iTunes at midnight, the duo’s come full force with their #CheekToCheekPromo today, including an appearance on Today this AM and the release of the accompanying video for their debut standard.
The behind-the-scenes clip sees the two tinkering away in the studio, recording their record together and fiddling at the engineer’s table to craft their collaboration. The two trade smiles (as Gaga trades out several wigs), some tears (when isn’t Gaga crying, really?), embrace, hit the stage together and, evidently, enjoy their time working together.
Plus, most importantly, a cameo from Gaga’s iconic French bulldog, Asia! Check out the clip up top. More »
Here comes the bride, all dressed in…gloom.
Lana Del Rey‘s positively haunting Ultraviolence title track, which is due to be released as the next single from the campaign, is about to get a visual treatment.
A newly released grainy teaser from Noisey sees Lana leading herself into blissful matrimony at a church, dressed in a white wedding dress, clutching flowers and kneeling at an altar. It’s the happiest day of her life! Right? Erm…knowing Lana, this probably won’t end very well.
And who is she looking at in the final few seconds as she glances over her shoulder at us? Is it Jim, Lana’s cult leader, arriving to come give her all of that ultraviolence? Or is it Bill, from Kill Bill, leading to a bloody wedding massacre scene? We’re waiting on pins and needles already. Check out the teaser up top, and let us know what you think the video’s going to be like in the comments below. More »
Ready to get a ridiculously catchy song stuck in your head for at least the next 24 hours or so? The Janoskians‘ latest single is appropriately titled “This Freakin Song” (or, in its more explicit version, “This F*ckin Song”), and its sing-song melody and “la la la la la la” chorus pretty much ensure that you won’t be forgetting the track, which was co-written by Mike Posner, anytime soon.
The tune is a straight-up breakup song — “You’re gonna miss me when my song’s on the radio, you’re gonna hate this freakin song,” the guys warn — while the video finds the Australian band of music-minded pranksters sending up Michael Jackson‘s classic “Beat It.” (No, really — love the boombox, lads.)
Head below to watch the visual for the Janoskians’ latest, and let us know what you think of “This Freakin Song.” More »
