Sometimes, out of the blue, a magical song springs up that possesses the ability to instantly brighten all corners of the universe. The rollout of Rita Ora‘s sophomore album was derailed when ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris took back all the songs he wrote for it but the ensuing delay has given the “Black Widow” babe time to collaborate with some interesting people. Take her new single “Grateful”, which is the handiwork of legendary songwriter Diane Warren. The soaring power ballad shows the Brit in a completely new light.
“I’m grateful for the wrong one, made me appreciate the right one,” Rita sings in the Celine Dion-worthy chorus. “I’m grateful for the pain, for everything that made me brave.” It will be interesting to see if the song connects with fans of the 23-year-old’s urban/dance output but Diane is confident. “Rita Ora did an amazing vocal,” she says of the Beyond The Lights soundtrack cut. “I think it can be a career song for her.” Take a listen to the lighters-in-the-air anthem after the jump. Well, she did pretty damn well at keeping this one locked down, but the jig is up: With just five days to go, the tracklist for Taylor Swift‘s highly anticipated ’80′s-inspired pop record 1989, has made its way onto the Internet thanks to a stealthy fan/admirer who snapped a photo of the album’s back cover, which is now doing the rounds on Twitter.
Along with smash single “Shake It Off,” as well as promo tracks “Out Of The Woods” and “Welcome To New York,” and the intriguingly cute “Style” (teased in a Target commercial released this morning), the album also includes still unreleased cuts like “I Wish You Would,” “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood” — y’know, the one she wrote about Katy Perry. (Allegedly.)

Selena Gomez set Instagram on fire earlier this week when she posted pics from a photo shoot with Aris Jerome. The 22-year-old modeled a revealing, lace-up bodysuit in the sexy black-and-white images, which showcase her killer curves and growing confidence. Today (October 22), the photographer posted more snaps from his session with Sel and they are just as striking.
One new portrait finds the Stars Dance diva rocking tiny denim shorts and a purple tank top. In other pics, Selena wears the same eye-popping bodysuit. The general consensus is that the former teen queen has never looked better. It will be interesting to see if this is the first hint of what to expect from her new era at Interscope Records. The charts are bubbling with record-breaking runs and firsts this week.
Meghan Trainor‘s inescapably bubbly body image anthem “All About That Bass” is leading the way for a seventh week on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming Epic Records’ longest-leading #1 in the label’s history — and tying with Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX‘s 7-week “Fancy” run. Will she pull ahead and have the biggest female hit of the year?
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift continues to shake her way at the top at #2 with “Shake It Off” (with her other 1989tune “Out Of The Woods” debuting at #18), while Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj shimmy back up to #3 with “Bang Bang.” Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora’s “Black Widow” comes in at #4, followed by Tove Lo‘s “Habits (Stay High)” at #5. That’s right — it’s a full #GIRLPOWER sweep for the Top 5!
But the ladies aren’t the only ones having a great week: X crooner Ed Sheeran (finally!) notched his first ever Top 10 hit with “Don’t,” which surpassed his previous chart record with “Sing” at #13. Welcome to the big leagues, Ed! Check out the full Top 10 after the jump. More »
Iggy Azalea has been going through a bit of a rough patch dealing with the ex-boyfriend from hell and a high-profile beef with Snoop Dogg but she’s not letting the drama get in the way of her success. The Australian rapper will perform her new Mø-assisted single “Beg For It” on Saturday Night Live this weekend and has signed on to be the new face of Forever 21 (along with her man Nick Young).
The genetically-blessed couple model a variety of slick ensembles in the clothing retailer’s holiday campaign. In one cute pic Iggy rocks a sexy, sequined dress, while Nick keeps it cool in a white jacket and green plaid pants. In another, the femcee models a figure-hugging leather skirt. Forever 21 has never looked better! See a selection of images after the jump. More »
Ariana Grande has many musical influences, but who knew Imogen Heap was one of them? Last Saturday, the “Love Me Harder” mini-diva uploaded an Instagram video that showed her and the British singer-songwriter having dinner. Judging by both of their exclamation point-laden posts, the two apparently enjoyed each other’s company.
Grande wrote, “most surreal night of my life. thank you so much again to my favorite person on earth, and my idol for so many years @imogenheap for the sweetest, home cooked, vegan dinner and the spontaneous lesson in mimu gloves!!!” The UK entertainer took to her blog, stating “A lovely time was had and was amazing hearing about her world. Crazy!” Last January, Grande covered the 2005 single “Just For Now” from Heap’s sophomore album Speak For Yourself.

Eric Hutchinson is about to have an incredible Autumn.
Beginning next week in Boston, the singer-songwriter will be embarking on a massive U.S. tour in support of his latest album Pure Fiction, which recently spawned his new single, “A Little More.” And he’s not going it alone: Tristan Prettyman will be teaming up with the crooner on the road.
The City & Sand Tour — cleverly named because of Eric’s NYC status and Tristan’s SoCal roots — will be hitting up over two dozen stops across America in the coming weeks. From Eric: “Tristan and I have been friends for a long time and I’ve always wanted to play together. This tour has been years in the making and finally the stars aligned perfectly. I can’t wait to share the stage with her.”
Do you want a chance to see Eric and Tristan take to the stage in a city near you? Find out how to win after the jump. More »
It’s back-to-back-to-back country albums on top of the Billboard 200, as Florida Georgia Line debut at #1 with Anything Goes (197,000 sold) following chart-topping stints by Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean in recent weeks. Also, Bob Seger follows follows the trend of veteran acts making a big showing in the Top 10 lately (see: Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett and Stevie Nicks) by debuting at #3 with his 17th studio album Ride Out (59,000).
That leaves Pink and Dallas Green (aka You+Me) to go in at #4 with rose ave. (50,000), which, if you can wrap your head around it, is actually the third-best chart position ever for a Pink album. The only two that did better: 2008′s Funhouse (#2) and 2012′s The Truth About Love (#1). More »
