Jennifer Lopez has been a tabloid fixture thanks to her high-profile relationships with Puff Daddy, Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony, among others. (See her “Jenny from the Block” video for proof.) However, she has yet to open up about these relationships as she apparently has in her forthcoming memoir True Love, out November 4. “I’ve never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I’ve felt abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally,” she says, according to PEOPLE.
While Lopez doesn’t say who was responsible for such abuse, she did mention that Anthony, her third husband and the father of her two children, found True Love to be revealing. “He read it and said, ‘Wow, I didn’t realize you were going through this whole journey,’ ” she says. “We try to be supportive of each other. We feel that’s the best thing for our kids.” Anthony had filed for divorce in 2012, shortly after the couple’s seventh wedding anniversary.

Kendrick Lamar‘s triumphant single “i” is the official anthem for the 2014-2015 NBA season, so of course the rapper had to perform it for their annual kickoff event! It marked one of his first live presentations of the song, with the recent one being at this year’s We Day Toronto.
The concert was held outside the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, where Lamar got the crowd hyped as they jumped in the air with energy. “i,” produced by Rahki, is the first insight to the rapper’s highly anticipated, yet-to-be-titled sophomore album. More »
Lorde talks how she took charge of the third Hunger Games soundtrack in Billboard‘s November issue – highlighting the meetings, cold calls and the artistic risks. She emphasizes that she wouldn’t have been satisfied with making an EP, as suggested by Lionsgate — the Hollywood studio behind the franchise. She also says that with Mockingjay – Part 1, she fulfilled a personal career goal of hers. “I’d really wanted to A&R a record,” she says to Billboard. “And I basically got to do that.”
All of this helps to portray Lorde as a singular artist, someone who would actually pair The Chemical Brothers with Miguel (“This Is Not a Game”) and feature Q-Tip, Pusha T, HAIM and herself on the same song. What’s also memorable is how she revealed that yes, she still gets nervous. “I’m the worst person ever at talking to people I don’t know on the phone — I can’t even order pizza,” Lorde says of reaching out to personal idol Kanye West. “I would put off calling him. I’d say, it’s 12:57, I’ll do it at 1.” More »
Robin Thicke‘s chart-topping “Blurred Lines” single, his collaboration with Pharrell, has sparked immense controversy ever since its released in March 2013. The main focus of the drama came from the Marvin Gaye‘s children, who filed a copyright infringement suit against the two stars. They claim the song rips off their father’s 1977 classic R&B hit “Got To Give It Up”.
The events got even more messy this September, when court documents revealed Thicke lied to media outlets about co-writing the song. Now, Billboard is reporting that Judge John Kronstadt ruled yesterday (October 30) that the estate “made a sufficient showing that elements of ’Blurred Lines’ may be substantially similar to protected, original elements of ’Got to Give It Up.’ Defendants have identified these with particularity for purposes of analytic dissection.” More »

When you’re out going bump in the night this Halloween, resist the temptation to go the full I-G-G-Y. As hot as you’d look in geisha-white face paint, a Twitter feud with Snoop and a thirsty lacefront, you’ll just be one of a hundred. Stand out among the crowd by rocking a more unexpected music-video-inspired costume. Whip up one of these deep-cut outfits, send us a picture and let all the sexy people beg for it by asking, “Who dat? Who dat?”
Take That‘s comical music video for lead III single “These Days” could very well mirror their lives for the next year or so, as the tiring nature of an album campaign and world tour cause them to spend practically every waking moment together. (And as for those non-waking moments, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald even cram themselves into the same bed at night in the video!)
Here we see the trio on what looks like the set of a TV sitcom, as they wake up, eat breakfast, shower, hit the salon, work out… you name it, they do it. Things finally wind down as Take That, decked out in retro blue suits, performance a dance routine on a box, with plenty of backup help. More »

:: Taylor Swift‘s new album 1989 is a massive hit (it’s predicted to sell just over one million copies in its first week alone), so there’s no surprise the popstar wants to take the project on the road! During her appearance on Good Morning America on October 29, she stated: “I am gonna be going out on tour very soon! We’re in the early stages of planning the actual show. I’m excited about announcing things when I can announce them, but it’s going to be happening!”[Just Jared]
:: Good news for Chris Brown! The troubled entertainer has settled two assault cases: one for charging at a man in Washington D.C. and the other for brawling with Frank Ocean‘s cousin in a parking lot last January. His total payment was $120,000. But that should be chump change for him…right? [MTV]
:: Jimmy Kimmel plans to host the 2014 Country Music Awards via hologram on November 5. But that’s not all! He’ll be hosting two shows at the same damn time: the CMAS as well as Jimmy Kimmel Live. The holograms of 2pac at 2012′s Coachella and Michael Jackson at this year’s Billboard Music Awards were creepy, so hopefully the talk show host can pull it off. [Complex]
:: Suge Knight may face 30 years to life in prison after an arrest for robbery. The rap mogul was arrested alongside comedian Katt Williams, who could serve up to seven years. [Pigeons & Planes]
