Recent “divorcee” Iggy Azalea is cranking up the heat and declaring that it’s “Iggy SZN” in one of the five new tracks on her upcoming Reclassified re-release of The New Classic (out November 24). Reclassified‘s actual lead single is the MØ-featuring “Beg for It,” which is set to premiere on radio Saturday (October 25) morning, ahead of Iggy’s performance on Saturday Day Night Live that evening.
For now, fans of the chart-topping rapstress will have to settle for sassy “Iggy SZN,” which has her declaring, “Haters gon’ hate while critics critique, I pay them no mind whenever they speak / what they make a year I make in a week, I know you can’t stand it, just get you a seat!”
Guess she told you. Listen below. More »
They only just wrapped up their Where We Are Tour approximately five seconds ago, but the young men of One Direction already have their sights set on another massive tour.
Moments ago, the superstar troupe announced the North American and European dates for their On The Road Again 2015 stadium tour in support of their upcoming record, Four. The tour pre-sale will begin on October 29 on their Facebook page, and will be made available everywhere else beginning on November 1. Don’t get too excited, though — the tour’s not coming for nearly a year! Well, okay…get excited: The boys are expected to perform brand new tracks from their upcoming record, including their latest single “Steal My Girl.” (Speaking of, the video for that drops tomorrow!)
From Niall: “We could not be more excited about the new tour. We’ve started rehearsing songs from the new album and can’t wait for the fans to hear them live. We’re just so very thankful to our amazingly loyal fans – they make it possible for us to play in these incredible places and continue to surprise us every day with their unwavering support.” Check out the tour dates below. With the 2014 American Music Awards just around the corner, more information is being released about the big night. It has been announced that Sam Smith, 5 Seconds Of Summer and Mary J. Blige will perform at the awards ceremony. The In The Lonely Hour crooner has been working closely with the R&B diva on her upcoming album The London Sessions, so hopefully they will grace the stage together!
These three artists join Pitbull as performers, and Mr. Worldwide is also set to host the AMAs for the second year in a row. Both Smith and 5SOS are up for New Artist of the Year, and Iggy Azalea leads the night with the most nominations (six, to be exact). Katy Perry and Pharrell are right behind her, with five nods each. The 2014 AMAs will air live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater, on November 23 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. View the entire list here. More »
Sam Smith swept the 2014 MOBO Awards last night (October 22), as he took away four awards. The In The Lonely Hour crooner won Best R&B/Soul Act, Best Male, Best Album and Best Song for his smash “Stay With Me.”
The ceremony, which stands for Music of Black Origin, was hosted by former Spice Girl Mel B and BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Sarah-Jane Crawford. The highlight performances of the night came from Sweet Talker Jessie J and honorary Brit, Nicole Scherzinger. The former sung a tried-and-true mashup of “Bang Bang” and “Burnin’ Up” featuring rapper Kid Ink, while the latter won the crowd with her latest tune “On The Rocks.”

We’re one day away from the premiere of the video for One Direction‘s “Steal My Girl,” the lead single off the UK boy band’s upcoming album Four (out November 17). And to tease Directioners to the point of experiencing an absolute cuteness-overload, the guys threw some photos from the Los Angeles set out there today, including ones showing Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and video guest star Danny DeVito playing around with a chimp.
In another pic posted on One Direction’s Facebook wall this morning, Liam Payne is shown being filmed while wearing a marching band jacket. What could all this random fun in the sun mean, as far as a cohesive plot for the video? (Remember, there’s also the whole bit with the sumo wrestlers!) Silly Directioners — you’ll just have to wait a full day to find out! More »
Jessie Ware is no stranger to a rap collaboration (see A$AP Rocky‘s remix of 2013′s “Wildest Moments”), and her latest joint effort is with J. Cole. The North Carolina-bred rapper added an explicit verse to the singer’s “Kind of…Sometimes…Maybe,” a Miguel-penned cut off her sophomore album Tough Love.
J. Cole’s verse kicks off the song, adding a staccato flow to the sensual bedroom romp that includes sexy talk about twisting tongues and fake asses. The two artists met in Los Angeles while Ware was in the studio with production duo BenZel (aka Benny Blanco and Two Inch Punch). Take a listen to the remix below. More »
Remember when the young queens of Fifth Harmony teamed up with Mattel to create a Barbie anthem called “Anything Is Possible”? Whether you’ve blocked the memory out of your head or have been happily bopping to the kid-friendly tune for months, the accompanying video has arrived — and it’s really something.
The über-perky, super colorful visual sees the BO$$ES going totally Barbie (even briefly turning into Barbie dolls!), crooning their female empowerment anthem while little girls dance around them and dream big: Olympians! Superheroes! Pop stars! Astronauts!
It’s undoubtedly the cheesiest thing the 5H ladies have ever participated in, but hey, it’s meant to inspire the next generation to dream big. Anything is possible, after all. More »
Did You Hear?
:: Tyga graces Vibe magazine’s digital cover this month, and the California rapper sure has a lot to say! In the article, he talks about his recent breakup with Blac Chyna and working with Kanye West in the studio — but the highlight of the interview is Tyga dissing Young Money labelmate Drake. He states, “I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together.” Ouch. [VIBE]
:: Katy Perry will be turning 30 years old soon (on October 25 to be precise), and the singer had plans to ring in the new decade in a big way. She wanted to celebrate the big 3-0 in Egypt, but unfortunately the trip won’t be possible due to safety reasons. There is no word yet on what Perry will end up doing for her birthday. [Hollywood Reporter]
:: Kendrick Lamar‘s latest single, “i” will now be the theme song for the 2014-2015 NBA season. The song is uplifting and has a positive message, so maybe it will give the basketball players more motivation to perform well. [2 Dope Boyz]
:: Celebrities sure love using Twitter to stir up drama! After Amber Rose filed for divorce from husband Wiz Khalifa, the model seemed to be pretty happy without him. But the rapper tweeted her a happy birthday on Tuesday, and she responded with: “Thank u [sic] Sweetheart #StillLoveYouNoMatterWhat.” Rose then used a heart emoji to cap off the tweet. What could this all mean?! [Celebuzz]
:: Pharrell is definitely a jack of all trades! It has been announced that the entertainer will star in an upcoming film for Chanel’s Pre-Fall fashion show. He shot it in Paris last week, and it will be shown simultaneously with the presentation on December 2. [Complex]

Swedish diva Ji Nilsson had a distinct sense of deja vu when she first heard Gwen Stefani‘s new single “Baby Don’t Lie”. She felt the song ripped off her own 2014 single “Heartbreakfree” and jumped on Twitter to (very politely) express her surprise. “People all over the internet are saying @gwenstefani s Baby Don’t Lie sounds just like my previous single ‘Heartbreakfree’!” she tweeted.
The Scandinavian singer/producer also retweeted a supporter’s comment about imitation being the greatest form of flattery, before giving a longer explanation when Gwen’s fans started trolling her mentions. “I have not been sitting around waiting to say that a famous artist copied the production of my song,” Ji lamented. “Blogs started to write about it and people agreed so I listened to Baby Don’t Lie and yes, I agree that the production sounds alot like Heartbreakfree.”
She actually has a point. The production does sound very similar, which may or may not be a total coincidence. Ji should probably take that up with Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco (who produced “Baby Don’t Lie”) but I sincerely doubt Gwen has ever heard the actually-rather-great “Heartbreakfree” in her life. Compare both songs after the jump and see the aggrieved pop star’s tweets. More »
Sister Cristina, a 26-year-old Italian nun, became an overnight YouTube sensation when she performed Alicia Keys‘ ballad “No One” on The Voice Italy earlier this year. She went on to win the competition, generating enough interest along the way to land a US deal with Republic Records. The divine diva is now promoting debut album (due November 11) with a cover of Madonna‘s “Like A Virgin”.
My initial reaction to Sister Cristina’s unfortunate song choice was to bathe my ears out in holy water but she has her reasons. “I chose ‘Like A Virgin’ because I wanted it to bear witness to God’s power to move all things!” she said in a statement. “I see it as God’s touch, when he called me to a new life, giving me back the purity and dignity of being his Daughter and being Loved by Him.” Ok, sis. Chill. Her interpretation of Madonna’s classic is actually kind of sweet. Watch pop’s coolest nun in action up top and check out her snazzy album cover and tracklist after the jump. More »
