Madonna isn’t taking any chances with her new LP. The pop icon has been cooking up tunes with EDM hitmaker du jour Avicii as well as collaborating with fellow diva/gun songwriter Natalia Kills. Now you can add MoZella, Symbolyc One (often referred to as S1) and Toby Gad to that extremely promising list.
So who are Madonna’s latest collaborators? Toby Gad should be familiar to most of you as the man who penned Beyonce‘s “If I Were A Boy” and Fergie‘s “Big Girls Don’t Cry”. S1 has also worked with Queen Bey (he produced “Best Thing I Never Had”), while MoZella was actually signed to Maverick Records — the Material Girl’s old label — in the early ’00s and released a couple of great albums and EPs.
Now she’s perhaps best known for writing Miley Cyrus‘ brilliant “Wrecking Ball”. With this trio on board, it’s a pretty safe bet that they are working on a ballad. Which is great news because you need an occasional break from the floorfillers and some of Madonna’s best songs are slow jams (“Live To Tell”, “Take A Bow” and “Rain”). More »
Miley Cyrus might be lying in hospital but the serial twerker’s illness hasn’t dampened her fiery attitude one iota. Sick of rumors that she suffered a nervous breakdown brought on by the death of her beloved dog and excessive partying, the Bangerz diva took to her Twitter account (she has great reception) to set everyone straight. “shut the fuck up & let me heal,” she tweeted angrily. “stop scaring my family, friends, & fans.”
The 21-year-old also attached an official statement that reads: “Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour. She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which she now suffered an extreme allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases.” See the “We Can’t Stop” superstar’s tweet and full statement after the jump. More »
It’s official. Ariana Grande‘s new single “Problem”, which she plans to debut at the Radio Disney Music Awards on April 27, will feature Iggy Azalea. The divas hinted at the collaboration in a mysterious Twitter exchange but Ari just confirmed the odd but exciting pairing in a tweet. She also shared a bunch of unofficial covers (above and below) to kick off the 10-day countdown to release.
This is a canny move from the “Baby I” songstress. Her planned Chris Brown duet was looking like an increasingly bad move in light of his incarceration and the Australian femcee is on fire right now thanks to the Charli XCX-assisted smash “Fancy”, which is currently sitting just outside the iTunes top 10. Together, they should have no problem making huge waves on the Billboard Hot 100. See Ariana’s tweets and the song’s unofficial covers after the jump. More »
Future is streaming his long-awaited LP Honest ahead of its April 22 release, but one song that he didn’t reveal on the official stream was “Benz Friendz (Watchutola),” his collaboration with Andre 3000. Welp, it has now landed on the unforgiving plains of the Internet allowing all to hear the double dose of ATLien behavior. It’s a screed against the trappings of success and the women who are attracted to that sort of peacocking, so it’s fitting that the track starts with what may be a clever callback to Outkast‘s whacked-out kiss-off “Roses.” After the sounds of a car crash, Andre repeats “I told that bitch,” and if you’ll recall in “Roses,” he squealed, “I hope she’s speeding on the way to the club, tryin’ to hurry up to get to some baller or singer or somebody like that, and try to put on her make up in the mirror and crash, crash, craaaash into a ditch.”
Anyway, back to reality. It’s a simple beat with a looped choral chant, which contrasts nicely with all the moving parts the pair throws at us. 3 Stacks is on hook duty, plus he spits a lengthy, broken-in verse and a separate sung-rapped verse. Future multitasks as well, alternating between rapping and robo-reggae crooning.

The great Selena Gomez drought of 2014 is finally over! Today, we learned that she has a new song/video on the way (thanks, Ryan Seacrest) and were treated to gorgeous pics of the Stars Dance diva modeling clothes from her Adidas NEO summer collection. What’s next, a new movie role or TV series?
The 21-year-old’s latest NEO range is cute and casual. In other words, perfect for summer. Selena models shorts, skinny jeans and some killer kicks. She looks like the extremely hot girl-next-door and I think that’s the whole point. The pics of her taking selfies are adorable and she even indulges in some painting. Peruse the pop star’s clothing line up top. More »
Selena Gomez has been unusually quiet on the music front since “Slow Down” was sent to radio in August 2013. The shimmery pop perfection that is Stars Dance never got a third single despite selling well and rumors began to swirl that the 21-year-old was shopping for new management and even a new label. (The former turned out to be true, there’s still no word on the latter).
Given all these developments, fans were happily surprised when Ryan Seacrest revealed that Sel has a new song/video on the way in a recent radio segment about Kim Kardashian‘s wedding. “I saw Selena the other night and she’s got a big new song coming out and a really cool video,” he said. But here’s where it gets really interesting. “The video will get people talking about whether or not it’s about she and Justin [Bieber]“.
Could this be a belated Stars Dance single or the lead single from Selena’s next LP? Ryan doesn’t mention Justin singing on the song, so it’s probably not their long hoped-for duet. Listen to the radio mogul spill the beans about the diva’s next move after the jump. He starts talking about Sel at the 2:35 minute mark. More »
