Ah, the dilemmas of Miley Cyrus. Pop’s most perpetually topless princess is heading back out for the rest of her Bangerz Tour (catch her at Nassau Coliseum in New York tomorrow night, Smilers!), and so she’s been packing her bags for life on the road once more. Naturally the singing stripper turned to her fans for a little advice on what to bring with her, via the world’s most efficient roundtable forum: Instagram.
Cyrus snapped a pic of herself in a cute white dress — partially see-through, of course — and posted it to the photo-sharing site with the caption, “packing life. should I bring this dress? is it toooo freaky? Or not freakyyyy enuffff?” And then along came a photo from the another angle, revealing Miley’s newly-acquired tattoo of her beloved, recently-deceased dog Floyd — and her side-boob. (This is becoming quite a trend with pop singers, you realize?)

The black cat‘s out of the bag: Over six years after her last studio album, Discipline, Janet Jackson is working on a follow-up to her 2008 record. (!!!)
In an interview with studio speaker company Barefoot Sound, vocal producer and engineer Ian Cross confirmed what many of Miss Jackson’s devoted fans have been waiting to hear ever since the conclusion of her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour in 2011: Janet’s back in the recording studio, and she’s been working for a while now.
“Janet [Jackson] and I had a little bit more of a special relationship because we became friends naturally,” Cross told Barefoot of their ongoing working relationship. “You meet a lot of people and you become friends with a couple of them, but sometimes there is one person you become really good friends with…She asked me to work on an album with her called Discipline in 2007 and, again, just do the same thing, produce the vocals. That led to her hiring me full-time to work with her. That’s where I’m at now.” More »
What happens when two of dance music’s most dynamic producers team up together on one mixtape? We’re about to find out: Twerk-master Diplo and dubstep king Skrillex are set to release their collaborative mixtape Jack Ü, as confirmed during Diplo’s Ask Me Anything session on Reddit this week.
And the first song to drop from the upcoming collabo? “Take You There,” featuring vocals from none other than our favorite “Hideaway” dance-pop sweetheart, Kiesza! (From dancing in the streets of Brooklyn to teaming up to the studio with the heavyweights in the time span of less than a year — now that’s impressive.)
Lucky for us, Diplo’s in a teasing mood lately thanks to Madonna, and he’s just given us a tantalizing first taste of the track. While DJing at Concorde Atlantique in Paris last week, Diplo dropped his Kiesza and Skrillex-assisted “Take You There.” And so far, it’s everything one might expect a collabo between the trio to sound — powerhouse vocals and mind-melting beat drops, mainly. According to Spin, the Major Lazer superstar is trying to get a stream of the song out “this week.” We’re ready!
Listen to Diplo spin the new track after the jump, and let us know what you think about the upcoming collabo. More »
As much as we hate to admit it, the fall season is leering at us all from around the corner, and that means glossy fashion mags will be hauling out their September issues before you know it. Harper’s Bazaar, in particular, snagged photographer Carine Roitfeld to shoot a portfolio of some of the most well-known women on the planet for its upcoming big issues (her photos will appear in all 30 worldwide editions of the publication) including Lady Gaga, Penelope Cruz, Brooke Shields and Cindy Crawford. The US edition of Harper’s will boast Gaga on the cover, and it looks like even her French bulldog Asia made the cut for the shoot.
Here Mother Monster wears a pink Chanel jacket and a skirt designed by Karl Lagerfeld, which Roitfeld explains to Women’s Wear Daily that she herself actually cut shorter for the shoot. “For all the icons, I used fishnets. Fishnets are like my link,” Carine tells WWD.

Katy Perry‘s blockbuster “Dark Horse” visual is the most-watched music video of 2014 (thus far) with just under 500 million views. It’s hardly surprising given the dazzling special effects and iconic choreography. The rest of the countdown contains a bunch of familiar faces including Shakira, who appears twice with “Can’t Remember To Forget You” and “La La La (Brazil 2014)”, and Iggy Azalea.
More surprising is the YouTube slayage of Enrique Iglesias. He also has two entries in the top 10 with current smash “Bailando” and Spanish language hit “El Perdedor”. The high ranking of The Chainsmokers‘ “#Selfie” underlines its online popularity, while Pitbull cements his status as Mr. Worldwide by racking up hundreds of millions of views for “We Are One”.
