Iggy Azalea Comments On Ariana Grande’s Alleged Diva Demands: “She Was Very Nice To Me”

Ariana Grande hasn’t won a lot of friends this month. The “Break Free” hitmaker caused a ruckus in Australia by issuing strict instructions about talking points and camera angles (photos can only be taken from the left) before leaving a media event and refusing to return. It seemed out of character but E! television personality Giuliana Rancic confirmed that she experienced similar behavior on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.

Oh, and let’s not forget when she allegedly wished death upon her fans for asking for autographs. It’s about time the 21-year-old got some good publicity and “Problem” collaborator Iggy Azalea stepped up to the plate at the iHeartRadio music festival on Saturday night (September 20). “She was very nice to me,” the Australian femcee told Celebuzz. “She’s a fire cracker and maybe that could be misunderstood perhaps, but I think she has a very, very kind heart.” More »

Sabrina Carpenter’s “The Middle Of Starting Over” Is Completely Irresistible: Watch The Candy-Colored Video

Sweet As Pie

Sabrina Carpenter has already carved out a niche as the (teen) queen of sugary sweet country-pop. The Girl Meets World starlet perfected the sound on Meghan Trainor-penned single “Can’t Blame A Girl For Trying” and continues to mark her territory with adorable follow-up “The Middle Of Starting Over”, which sounds like Taylor Swift before her heart was broken by every dude in town.

“Back to the beginning gonna hit rewind, chance to do it over, get it right this time,” chirps Sabrina in the perky chorus. “Life gives you pennies, turn ‘em into dimes. I’m in the middle of starting over.” The serotonin-raising tune deserved an equally fluffy visual and Hollywood Records comes through with a candy-colored romp that finds the 15-year-old strumming her guitar and throwing pillows at friends. Rihanna’s Infamous/Legendary Nude ‘Lui’ Magazine Shoot Just Got Hotter: See Two Topless Outtakes

Rihanna‘s Lui photo shoot is already the thing of pop culture legend. Not only did the Barbadian babe kill her iconic Instagram by posting a string of extremely NSFW pics but it also raised the bar for celebrity nudes. Miley Cyrussexy antics with Terry Richardson looked like stills from Hannah Montana in comparison to RiRi’s poses for the French men’s magazine.

Well, praise the internet gods because a pair of eye-popping outtakes have arrived. Rihanna poses with her back to the camera while perched on a diving board in one sultry pic and goes topless (well, shows one boob) in another sexy poolside moment. There’s not much else to say. She looks amazing and probably gives zero fucks about the snaps surfacing online. Check out the racier image after the jump. More »

Ricky Martin Releases New Single “Adios” In English, Spanish & French: Listen To All Three Versions

Ricky Martin is a global superstar, so it only makes sense that he would release his new single “Adios” in three different languages. The first taste of the Latin heartthrob’s 10th studio album was penned by Jesse Shatkin (he co-wrote Sia’s “Chandelier”), Cuban rapper Yotuel Romero and Japanese/Spanish flamenco virtuoso Antonio Rayo, and that multi-cultural line-up is indeed reflected in the song’s world music sound.

“Adios” finds the 42-year-old in an unusually sedate mood. Think Michael Buble with a very exotic twist. It’s a sound that works a lot better in Spanish (and French) than English but still represents an interesting change of pace for the ever-evolving crooner. The chorus and instrumental breakdown, in particular, demand repeat listens. Check out all three versions after the jump. More »

Azealia Banks Explores ’90s House On New Track “Chasing Time”: Listen

Given that Azealia Banks debut LP has been pushed back more times that an outward-opening door, you have to take whatever musical crumbs you can get. The Latest track to surface from Broke With Expensive Taste, which now has a tentative January 2015 release date, is called “Chasing Time” and it explores a similar ’90s house sound as her excellent 1991 EP.

Produced by Oak, Steve Mostyn and Ronny Colson, “Chasing Time” is something of a return to form for the struggling femcee. She switches things up by singing (as opposed to rapping) the vast majority of the song and genuinely shines in the soaring chorus. Can someone please build Azealia a time machine, so she can go back in time and launch this album in a non-farcical manner? Listen after the jump. More »

Lana Del Rey Will Perform Two Special Shows At Hollywood Forever Cemetery In October

Given her somber songs, general fascination with death and obsession with the glitz and glamor of Tinseltown, Lana Del Rey‘s upcoming shows at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles could be the ultimate setting to hear her music. The 29-year-old, who recently cancelled shows in Europe due to illness, will perform two special shows at the unlikely venue on October 17 and 18.

The gloomy diva will perform songs from chart-topping sophomore set Ultraviolence and, no doubt, throw in a couple of old gems. The opportunity to hear tunes like “Born To Die” and “Fucked My Way Up To The Top” in close proximity to the dearly departed is pretty irresistible, so make sure to get in early. The fan pre-sale starts on September 24 at 7pm (PST), followed by the public on-sale on September 27 at 12pm PST. Find more info after the jump. More »

Mary J. Blige’s “Whole Damn Year”: Listen To Her ‘London Sessions’ Ballad

We’re still waiting for the actual first single off Mary J. Blige‘s upcoming LP The London Sessions to arrive — it’s called “Therapy” — but in the meantime, we now have the second so-called buzz track to surface ahead of the album’s release. “Whole Damn Year” follows up the far more upbeat, Disclosure-produced “Right Now.” It’s a ballad that finds Blige lyrically detailing the aftermath of an extremely painful breakup.

“Tryin’ to find a way to explain this, why you can’t touch me tonight / I can feel you getting impatient, but I really can’t let you inside,” Mary sings mournfully in “Whole Damn Year.” Some outlets are reporting that the song is a co-write done with Emeli Sande, but there’s no official word on that just yet.

Lorde To Release ‘Hunger Games’ Soundtrack Song “Yellow Flicker Beat” On September 29

The soundtrack for the highly anticipated Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is being curated by Lorde, which is both a curious and incredibly promising thing.

And while we’re still entirely in the dark about which acts the “Royals” songstress has enlisted to provide tracks for the forthcoming collection, we now know that her own contribution is coming to us next week.

“Yellow Flicker Beat” will be released on September 29, produced by the prolific Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence + The Machine). The song, which will reportedly be played during the closing credits of the film, is also the first taste of new music from Lorde since the release of Pure Heroine. More »

Kelly Clarkson Sheds Some Light On Her Next Album, Tweets Lyrics And Release Date Information

What the world needs now is new music from Kelly Clarkson. I know the inaugural American Idol winner released Wrapped In Red last year but it’s hard to rock out to “Run Run Rudolph” in September. (I’ve tried). Unfortunately, we’re going to have to hold tight a little bit longer. She jumped on Twitter over the weekend and shared a couple of tidbits about her much-anticipated 7th LP — including the fact that it won’t be out until 2015.

“The high road can be a lonely place but I’d rather talk to my shadow than a mirage,” the new mom mysteriously tweeted on Friday (September 19). Fans got concerned but Kelly set them straight. “Okay haha my last tweet was referring 2 a song that’s going on my next album.” If that’s a lyric, it looks like wedded bliss hasn’t satiated her appetite for angry pop/rock anthems.

She then tweeted a fan this nugget of information: “I’m so proud of my next album! Might have a special guest on the album…. maybe :) Doesn’t come out until early next year.” This is torture. Who is going to appear on Kelly’s next LP? She’s expressed admiration for Beyonce and Selena Gomez previously but my money is another high-profile country duet. She is the crossover queen, after all! Two Demos Dev Hynes Recorded For Britney Spears Have Surfaced Online: Listen

Last summer, Dev Hynes and William Orbit‘s brief Twitter exchange fueled rumors that Hynes was cast as one of the many producers on Britney SpearsBritney Jean (released in November 2013). The speculation ended up being true, but his work for the project was ultimately rejected. A little over a year later, two of the demos that Hynes recorded for the Princess of Pop have surfaced online.

The first one is an airy mid-tempo that’s filled with computerized glitches and Hynes’ whispering “Leave us alone,” which Spears’ breathy coos would have worked wonders on! The second demo is a melodic ballad with a beautiful piano melody at its core.
