Olly Murs and Demi Lovato‘s lovely duet has now surfaced! Titled “Up,” the bouncy mid-tempo highlights the stars’ bright and strong vocals. During her recent CapitalFM appearance, Lovato stated: “It’s kind of got this folky, country vibe. It’s super catchy, I love it. He’s the sweetest guy in the world and I’m excited I got to work with him, he’s got good energy.”
The tune follows songs like “Wrapped Up” and “Right Place, Right Time” from the 28-year-old British X Factor star. “Up” is the latest track off Olly Murs’ upcoming fourth studio album Never Been Better, which will be released on November 24 in the United Kingdom. Meghan Trainor‘s breezy body acceptance anthem “All About That Bass” continues to bop along on top of the Billboard Hot 100 at the moment, but a recent comment during an interview just landed her in hot water with some critics…including Demi Lovato.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the singer-songwriter spoke about growing up as “a chubby girl” in school and being rejected by a crush because of her weight. She went on to clarify that she never battled an eating disorder — but it’s the way that she dismissed the idea that has since raised a few eyebrows.
“I wasn’t strong enough to have an eating disorder…I tried to go anorexic for a good three hours. I ate ice and celery, but that’s not even anorexic. And I quit. I was like, ‘Ma, can you make me a sandwich? Like, immediately,” she said to ET.
The idea of being “strong enough” to maintain an eating disorder didn’t sit well with some, including Demi, who has been quite vocal about her own struggle with body issues over the years. And, in a series of tweets written earlier this afternoon, she responded: “Having an eating disorder doesn’t show ‘strength,’” she began, taking the opportunity to educate regarding the reality of mental illness. Demi Lovato completely rocked the stage at The Ellen Degeneres Show yesterday (November 10)! The pop starlet sung alongside up-and-coming band The Vamps to perform their collaboration, “Somebody To You” — the first single off their debut album, Meet The Vamps (released in April 2014).
The UK pop/rock quartet brought the punchy tune to life on the talk show stage, as Lovato provided her always-strong vocals. After the performance, she sat down with Ellen to discuss her adorable “engagement” to a 5-year-old at one of her concerts. Watch the artists sing “Somebody To You” up top, and catch Lovato’s brief interview after the jump! More »

Nick Jonas has been grabbing our attention for several months now, ever since he dropped “Chains” and “Jealous,” a pair or impeccable pop singles from his upcoming self-titled album, and dropped his pants for Flaunt magazine. As for Demi Lovato, well — she might just be the coolest girl in pop.
So consider us more than excited that Nick has followed in older brother Joe Jonas‘ footsteps by pairing up with Demi for a duet. “Avalanche” finds the two taking the parts of lovers in an emotional freefall, detailing the aftermath of their breakup. Ballads and big-name collaborations can sometimes be a snooze, but this track a prime example of how you go about making a perfect duet. Take a listen after the jump! More »
Here’s some great news to brighten your Monday. Demi Lovato has already started work on her fifth studio album! “She’s finishing up right now on the last leg of her touring for this year,” her manager told Billboard. “Then the plan is for her to go back into the studio and start the next creative process. She’s already done some songs, but certainly the majority of it will kick off next year.”
I guess this kills those rumors that the pop diva is planning to re-release her current LP with a couple of high-profile duets. Demi has been a particularly successful era for the 22-year-old. It produced three top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 (“Heart Attack”, “Neon Lights” and Cher Lloyd collaboration “Really Don’t Care”) and proved popular around the globe — charting in most major European markets.
“We’re really excited,” Disney Music Group present Ken Bunt told the music bible. “We’ve got a new album coming from her next year. We’re not talking about release dates yet. And she’s going to continue her world tour throughout next year.” It will be interesting to see how Demi’s next era fares in comparison to former Disney divas Selena Gomez and Zendaya, who both have new music due in 2015. Aside from her chart-topping smashes like “Give Your Heart A Break,” “Heart Attack” and “Skyscraper,” Queen Demi Lovato is also known for her outspokenness, frequently opening up about everything from sexuality to body image to feminism — and this week is certainly no exception.
Her good friend Taylor Swift‘s been getting plenty of both praise and heat lately for her recent 1989 offerings like “Out Of The Woods,” which led her to speak out about what she considered to be “sexist” criticism for writing about her ex-boyfriends — and it seems that Demi’s in agreement with Tay.
In an interview with ET Canada, the “Neon Lights” singer backed up her friend, going on to say that Taylor’s one of the very few famous friends she has that has yet to be affected by fame. Check out Demi’s full comments after the jump. More »
Last year Restless Road formed on the US version of The X Factor, under the guidance of Simon Cowell. The country-pop trio wound up in fourth place by the end of the series’ third season, and earlier this month, they found themselves reuniting with onetime X Factor judge Demi Lovato by opening for her and Christina Perri in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Moline, Illinois.
“Being able to perform on the same stage as Demi and Christina in itself was an amazing experience,” the guys tell Idolator. “We’re huge fans of both of their work. But going into the tour, we weren’t sure how a pop audience would receive our music with us being a country-rooted act. But as soon as we started performing, the crowd immediately started getting into it and having a good time.”
Today we’re premiering a gallery of exclusive backstage photos from their shows with Demi and Christina that the guys provided us, which you can flip through above. (You might notice that a new member, Jared Keim, has replaced Colton Lane Pack since the band were on The X Factor.) And below, is a short Q&A with did with the three of them — Jared, Andrew Scholz and Zachary Beeken — where they discuss their upcoming album and some of their biggest music influences. More »
