It’s that time of year again! A time to celebrate the year’s best videos at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, yes — but also a time to yell and scream at the sheer snubbery of it all.
Every year, a few beloved clips from our pop acts go ruthlessly unrecognized by the annual award show. We’ve been compiling a list of the most deserved videos that flew under MTV’s radar this year, but now we want to hear from you: What video do you think deserved a nomination (or ten!) this year?
Below are our most snubbed videos of ’14 — from Britney‘s “Work Bitch” to Lady Gaga‘s “G.U.Y.” and “Applause” to Demi Lovato‘s “Neon Lights.” All of these videos (and more) got a whopping zero nominations — so it’s time to speak out: Place your vote after the jump and serve justice for your faves! (Don’t see your fave on the list? Let us know in the comments and we’ll add it to the poll!) More »

The 2014 Teen Choice Awards aired last night, which saw some of our favorite teen-pop faves winning awards as voted on by teens. Teen power!
Along with a star-studded cast of presenters last night, there was certainly no shortage of musical action on the main stage: From Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd‘s killer live rendition of their Demi summer banger “Really Don’t Care,” to Magic!‘s chart-topping #1 “Rude,” to Rixton‘s “Wait On Me” and “Me & My Broken Heart,” to Becky G‘s infectious “Shower” all the way to Jason Derulo and his inescapable summer jams, “Wiggle” and “Talk Dirty,” the night was filled with killer live performances. (Note: Rita Ora was scheduled to hit the stage too, but was allegedly blocked by ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris from performing the song. #DRAMA!)

“Thank you all so much for voting for me. This is for my fans,” Ariana Grande said while accepting the 2014 Teen Choice Award for Choice Female Artist last night (August 10) at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Edwin Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus in Westwood, but a reported burst pipe caused flooding in the venue just one week prior.
Grande, who is arguably the pop star of summer 2014, continued with her speech by acknowledging the recent passing of her grandfather. “Especially this last month was very rough for me, and my fans showed me the realest love and compassion and understanding and support,” Ariana said while holding her new trophy surfboard. , Demi Lovato
prefers to it keep it cute. But that doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun and show off her killer curves at the same time. The 21-year-old uploaded an adorable video goofing around in the pool this morning (August 4) and proved once and for all that she really does not care
. At all.
“That one time I was swimming under the glass in my bungalow…… And got sucked away by the current……” was her explanation for the funny vid, which finds the “Somebody To You” diva splashing around in her pool. has lent her voice to Human Rights Campaign
in support of marriage equality. “I believe that love comes in all different shapes, sizes and colors – so whether you’re LGBT or straight, your love is valid, beautiful and an incredible gift,” she says in a new video (watch above).
The Demi star’s endorsement appears with a pledge to support marriage equality. It’s also timely – Utah, one of 31 US states banning same-sex marriage, is currently seeking a Supreme Court review for a new ruling. Meanwhile, Lovato has become a vocal supporter for marriage equality over the past few weeks. She filmed her “Really Don’t Care” video during this year’s LA Pride festivities, while serving as the event’s grand marshal. “You don’t have to hate, because my Jesus loves all,” she said to protesters nearby, at the music video’s start.

recently dropped by the Idolator
studio to chat about her breakthrough hit “Shower”
, which continues to surge up the Billboard Hot 100. (It reached a new peak of number 55 this week). While the focus was on the 17-year-old’s unstoppable earworm, other topics of discussion included Katy Perry
‘s boobs — because they’re awesome — and her dream collaboration.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Dr. Luke‘s protege settled on Demi Lovato as the lady she would most like to work with out of the current crop of pop divas. (As far as guys go, her heart belongs to Bruno Mars). “I was in the same room as her the other day and just seeing the way she talks and how cool she is, I just love that about her!” Watch her explanation up top. , mama! Demi Lovato
is truly a LGBT warrior.
In the past few weeks, Demi’s been giving tons of support to the community — from acting as Grand Marshal at the LA Pride Parade, to appearing at LOGO TV’s Trailblazers, to dropping some amazing “Really Don’t Care” remixes for the clubs before hitting the pier at NYC Pride this upcoming weekend. And now, the fearless “Neon Lights” diva has come out swinging with her bright, beautiful video for “Really Don’t Care” with Cher Lloyd.
Filmed at the LA Pride Parade on June 8, the celebratory clip sees Demi partying and dancing it up with friends and fans (and Cher, too!), as well as pridefully powering through her latest Demi smash in front the crowd’s most colorful characters: Drag queens! S&M daddies! Latex enthusiasts! This girl’s not afraid to show her love for all the colors of the rainbow — and we certainly love her for that. Watch Demi and Cher have a gay ‘ol time up top. More »
